Chapter: 1799
With that, the staff member handed Ariana a phone number.
Ariana was happy and expressed her gratitude. Shortly afterward, she and Holden were back in their car.
Ariana was ready to make the call immediately, but Holden stopped her.
“Hold on, don't call just yet. Let me check this number first. We don't want to alarm anyone."
Ariana considered his advice and agreed, "Okay."
Holden forwarded the number to Shawn to investigate the owner.
Looking at her watch, Ariana decided to visit Mitchel in the hospital.
Ever since he got hurt, she had been there for him, either visiting or sending him messages almost every day.
Holden just said, "I'll come along."
He drove Ariana to the hospital, with plans to swing by Sadie's ward to pick up Adele.
While they were waiting for the elevator, Holden's phone rang.
He answered the call and signaled Ariana to go first as the elevator doors opened.
Ariana entered the elevator, busy responding to messages in the group chat.
The elevator dinged, and she stepped out, still captivated by Sonia's engaging gossip. Sonia was a master storyteller, adept at making gossip all the more irresistible.
Oblivious to her surroundings, Ariana approached the ward door and was about to knock when she realized she was on the wrong floor.
She quickly put away her phone and turned around to go back.
As she passed a VIP room, she heard yelling and faint weeps.
She soon recognized Sadie's voice, saying, “Shut your mouth. Can't you understand me?"
At first, Ariana thought Sadie was reprimanding a nurse, but there was no other adult voice, only another barely audible sound.
With a concerned frown, Ariana moved closer and saw that the door was slightly open.
