Chapter: 1805
"I can't," Adele repeated in a low voice. "There are wolves. I'm scared."

Ariana fell silent for a while, not understanding what Adele meant.

She thought Adele was afraid Sadie would scold her, so she stopped talking about the topic. She just continued comforting Adele.

After a while, the door of the ward opened, and Holden walked out.

When Ariana saw him, she quickly stood up and asked, “Is Sadie okay?"

She didn't like Sadie. But since Sadie was pregnant, she was still concerned.

Holden nodded. "It's nothing serious. The baby in her belly is fine. And she will be fine after two days of rest."

Ariana breathed a sigh of relief. When she thought of what had happened just now, she couldn't help but feel depressed. She explained in a low voice, "I really didn't do anything to her. She rushed over too fast and hit the table. I didn't even touch her. I'm not crazy enough to hurt a pregnant woman."

While explaining, Ariana felt upset and aggrieved. The hospital was very quiet right now, and Holden didn't immediately respond to her.

Because of this, Ariana became even more anxious. She should have thought that Sadie must have spoken ill of her in front of Holden.

Now, she didn't know who Holden would believe.

Did he trust her or Sadie?

While Ariana was lost in her train of thought, she felt a gentle touch on her head. She looked up and saw Holden looking at her with tender eyes. He said, “I will always believe every word you say.”

Ariana was stunned for a moment. Before she could react, Holden pulled her to sit down, opened the small medical bag he brought, and carefully cleaned the wounds on her neck. While applying the medicine, he blew gently. Adele also joined in, blowing tenderly to Ariana's neck.

Holden looked at the blood stain on Ariana's neck, feeling sorry for her. He asked, “Does it still hurt?"

It was only then that Ariana snapped back to reality. Remaining silent, she grabbed the hem of her clothes tightly and then Loosened her grip. Eventually, she burst out crying.

Holden was startled by Ariana's crying. He hurriedly wiped her tears, asking, "What's the matter? Did I press too hard? Is there something else bothering you?"

Ariana, struggling to articulate her feelings through tears, couldn't answer. So Holden drew into his arms, gently patting her back and providing a shoulder to cry on.

As she wept in Holden's embrace, Ariana's tears flowed freely. Her thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions.

She had thought about stepping back to make everyone's life go back to peace. But Holden treated her so well, and she just couldn't let him go. She realized that distancing herself from Holden would leave her to cope with her pain and memories alone. But she hadn't done anything wrong, and Holden was right here with her. Why should she suffer the pain of loss?
