Chapter: 1835
Following the incident with the obsessed fans, Sadie had experienced a cascade of lost sponsorship deals.
She knew that Holden's actions were essentially exiling her from the entertainment industry, and he didn't do it abruptly solely because of her identity as Adele's mother.
She took a deep breath, clutching her phone tightly as she glared venomously at the joyous family in the dessert shop.
Clenching her teeth, she silently pledged to remain composed. Losing her composure wasn't an option. She had nothing more to lose, and if she had to go down, she would definitely bring Ariana down with her.
Leaving the dessert shop, Ariana intended to return to the Global Building alone. However, Holden firmly grasped her hand and only released it upon leading her to his office, where he presented her with a Laptop.
“What's this for?" Ariana inquired, holding the laptop.
“You can work here. If the sofa isn't comfortable, you're welcome to use my desk," Holden replied.
Ariana recognized that Holden was still shaken from the car accident earlier. As she prepared to say something, Melon hugged her right leg, expressing, “Mommy, I want to stay with you."
Adele imitated Melon by hugging Ariana's left leg and pleading, “Aria, let's stay together."
Overwhelmed by their earnest gazes, Ariana glanced at Holden, who was also looking at her with a pitiful expression.
Succumbing to their requests, Ariana raised her hands in surrender and said, “Alright, alright. I'll work from here; I won't leave.”
"That's great." Holden smiled and proceeded to sit beside her, starting to work.
Ariana also became engrossed in her work, beginning by sharing a new talent recruitment poster on her social media platforms.
With the office organized, Ariana intended to sign some new talents, scheduling interviews for the following month and reviewing resumes.
The progress with the group of six was smooth, and after finalizing their assistants, Ariana had few concerns remaining, except for Calvin, who was in the process of recovering.
Ariana reviewed various scripts for Calvin, considering the idea of a stint on a reality show for aspiring actors. Despite Calvin's recent challenges, she believed that any form of exposure would be advantageous now.
When Ariana was engrossed in her tasks, her phone suddenly rang. The call was from Sonia. Ariana pondered why Sonia was calling her now.
She promptly answered, only to hear Sonia sobbing, "Ariana, I've resigned."
"What?" Ariana exclaimed in surprise. "Why did you resign? What happened?"
Sonia struggled to articulate her thoughts over the phone, hesitating before eventually stating, “I can't discuss this over the phone. Let's meet in person, and I'll explain everything."
