Chapter: 1849
Holden didn't waste a second and dialed Zayden's number, but it went straight to voicemail.
Holden's face tightened, and he quickly had someone look into Zayden's recent whereabouts. Before long, he got a reply.
"Mr. Fredrick, Zayden's been in Conata for a while. He hasn't returned to Eleymond."
If Zayden wasn't around, he couldn't be the one who had taken Melon and Adele. So who else could have taken them away?
Ariana couldn't just do nothing. She had experienced the heartbreak of losing people close to her, and she had lost her child before.
She didn't want to go through that again. Melon was all she had now.
Her anxiety sent her running out of the kindergarten, checking with the nearby shops one by one. She watched their security footage, desperate for clues.
Finally, in the footage of the fifth shop she checked, she spotted someone familiar at the corner of the street, leading Melon and Adele away.
It was Sadie.
As soon as Ariana saw Sadie, she exploded. "Why on earth would that lunatic take Melon?" she muttered.
She thought about all of Sadie's erratic behavior and how Sadie had treated Adele. The thought of Melon with Sadie terrified Ariana.
Ariana had already lost her daughter, and now, Melon was all she had left. She was determined not to let anyone take her child.
Holden's expression darkened after watching the security footage. He took out his phone, unblocked Sadie's number, and called her.
The call rang several times, but Sadie didn't answer.
“She probably took Melon and Adele somewhere close to the kindergarten," Holden muttered before hanging up. Ariana couldn't wait any longer; she rushed to that area to search for them.
They were just approaching the entrance of the kindergarten when Sadie emerged, walking back with two children.
Ariana's heart pounded; she hurried forward, scooped up Melon, and quickly checked him for any signs of harm, all without uttering a word.
Melon, sensing his mother's intense anger, stayed completely silent.
Sadie observed Ariana frantically examining Melon and couldn't resist a cold chuckle. "Relax, I didn't do anything to your child."
Ariana glared at Sadie, barely holding back her fury.
