As he spoke, Zayden grabbed his walkie-talkie and yelled, “Bring everyone from positions four and six here now! Get the helicopter ready!"

“They're indeed losers; they can't even stop the three of us, muttered Adrian."

Without missing a beat, Sonia drew her gun and aimed at Zayden. One of Zayden's guys shot back at her. Sonia ducked to the side and missed Zayden. The bullet from the guy grazed her arm.

Sonia grimaced from the pain and clutched her arm as she took cover.

Adrian and Mitchel pulled out their guns and started firing at Zayden's crew.

Before long, Holden rushed to the rooftop and joined the fight.

Fortunately, Zayden was so cocky that he hadn't placed too many guards on the roof. So Holden and the others quickly took advantage of the rooftop's layout to engage Zayden and his men in a brutal battle.

While the fight raged on, Sonia's eyes locked onto the crane nearby.

She slowly backed away and moved toward it without drawing attention.

She got to the crane's control panel, but it was dead. The machine was shot. But she didn't give up. She climbed up the crane's arm and reached for the rope. Then, with a lot of effort, she pulled Melon up.

Melon bit his lip and was still crying. Sonia noticed that the fighting with Zayden's people was still intense, so she motioned for Melon to stay quiet. She shielded him while making her way over to save Adele.

Using the same method, Sonia got Adele to safety, too. With a big sigh of relief, she quickly untied the ropes binding Adele.

At that moment, Sonia suddenly heard Adrian yelling, "Melon! Look out!"

Sonia spun around to see a gun pointed at Melon. It was one of Zayden's guys who was holding the gun.

The next second, the trigger was pulled, and a loud gunshot cracked through the air.

The moment the gunshot rang out, Sonia rushed out almost instinctively. She grabbed Melon and shielded him in her arms.

The bullet went through her waist. Her eyes widened in shock. She looked down at the uninjured Melon, then at her clothes stained with blood. Slowly, she lost consciousness and fell.

Melon was stunned. He was so scared that he trembled all over.

"Godmother! Wake up!"

Melon cried out loud and tried to hold Sonia. His hands were stained red by her blood. But he was too small for her, so he could only watch her fall.
