Chapter: 1928
“You're aware of my calls, but you didn't do anything to punish me. What's your true objective?"
"Punish you? Indeed, you're in for a lesson, but not now," Bennett said in a playful tone.
Ariana seethed. She was about to respond when Bennett said, "What's my objective? I'm simply a person who wants to witness the prey's final struggles."
When Ariana heard that, she fell silent.
Bennett, not getting any response from her, said, "What's wrong? Are you scared now?"
Ariana wasn't in the mood to talk to him and sank into a chair. Her thoughts were scattered, mostly focused on where Holden might be.
If Adrian had tracked her down, Holden had probably followed him. But with Bennett's people and wild animals lurking here, she worried about Holden's safety.
She was out of harm's way for the night, but she dreaded the prospect of Bennett catching Holden. Who knew what that maniac might do?
While Ariana thought about these things, her anxiety intensified.
Seeing Ariana like this, Bennett was under the impression that she had surrendered to her fate.
He had finally encountered someone fascinating. If she just surrendered, where would he find his amusement?
So, he quickly said, “I could let you live, you know."
That caught Ariana's attention. “What do you mean?" she asked.
In fact, Ariana was tired of Bennett's tricks. Since Adrian arrived, all she could think about was locating Holden and escaping from this place.
But she couldn't just lash out at Bennett, especially since she had noticed that his tone was becoming colder. So, she played along.
Bennett's attitude seemed to lighten a bit as he chuckled. “If you beg me, perhaps I'll consider letting you go."
Ariana fixed her gaze on the camera, her face expressionless, and said, “Fine, then. I beg of you. Let me go."
She spoke with no emotion whatsoever as if she were a robot.
Bennett was momentarily speechless, caught off guard by her straightforward answer, and it definitely didn't please him.
After a short pause, he said, "That's not proper begging. If you want to survive, you've got to prove you mean it."
