Chapter: 1937
She knew how to make herself appealing to men, adjusting her neckline to show what she was willing to offer.
She was willing to become whatever Bennett wanted if it meant she could stay alive.
But Bennett wasn't buying it. His expression twisted into a deeper frown, showing his disgust.
He was sick of women throwing themselves at him for protection, power, or whatever else they were after.
He didn't know what this woman really wanted, but he didn't care.
Staring at her coldly, Bennett leaned a bit closer and said, “Since you want this, I'll agree to your request."
"Thank you, Mr. Olson," the woman replied. But before she could offer a smile, Bennett leaned back with a smirk and waved his hand toward his men. "Take her. She's all yours, boys."
The men got the hint right away. They exchanged a look and started approaching the woman.
The woman's face went pale. Before she could utter another word, the men covered her mouth and yanked her toward the nearby pool.
"No! Mr. Olson! I just want to stay alive! Please!" the woman cried, desperate for a shred of mercy. But Bennett wasn't moved.
Her sobs and pleas were drowned out by the splash of the water, confirming the brutal behavior.
Bennett watched from a distance, his expression icy. To him, if a woman threw herself at him so openly, she had to deal with whatever came next. He wasn't interested in just anyone.
He lit a cigar, the smoke curling up as he observed from afar.
After he took a couple of drags, he noticed a group of people approaching. Ariana was at the front, carrying a puppy.
Bennett frowned. He gestured with his hand, and his men quickly reacted, heading toward the pool to stop the noise. They pulled the woman from the water, now tinged with red, leaving a bloody smear on the ground.
Lifeless and naked, the woman was yanked out of the pool and thrown onto the ground, dragged away and treated as nothing more than a piece of meat.
As Ariana walked by the pool, she saw a horrifying scene. A woman, completely stripped of her clothes and drenched in blood, was being dragged away. Nearby, a group of men hastily adjusted their belts, leaving no doubt as to what had just transpired.
Ariana's chest tightened with a sudden pang as she bore witness to the scene. A shiver raced down her spine, prompting her to halt in her tracks and clutch the puppy in her arms tightly, summoning her courage. She knew there was no turning back now.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she trailed behind the man in charge, following him to meet Bennett.
Bennett casually flicked the ash off his cigar, extinguished it, and shot Ariana a cold, piercing glance before inquiring, "What's all this about?"
