Chapter: 1969
When Nelly fired, Fraser had shielded her from the bloody scene.
Now, she understood why he had done that, knowing Fraser was actually Holden in disguise.
Thinking of this, Ariana suddenly remembered Adrian, who had helped her escape. "Where's Adrian?" she asked Holden anxiously.
With Ariana's anxiety about Adrian weighing heavily on his mind, Holden was resolute in ensuring his friend faced no danger. He decisively said, “Let's go and pick him up immediately.”
The car swiftly departed from the manor.
"Adrian, how are you?" Holden tried to contact Adrian through a wireless headset, but there was only silence on the other end.
“Adrian, can you hear me?" Holden persisted, but there was no response.
Ariana's intuition told her something was wrong. She feared that Adrian might already be suspected by Bennett, who was vigilant.
"Could Adrian be in trouble?" Ariana's worry was evident. She hated the idea of anyone facing danger because of her.
Holden, sharing Ariana's concern for Adrian's safety, tried to reassure her, “Don't stress too much now. Let's go to the meeting point first and try contacting him later."
“Okay, that's our only option," Ariana said, her brow furrowed with concern.
She believed that, by now, Bennett must have learned of her escape, and his anger would be mounting. If Adrian fell into Bennett's hands, the consequences would be dire.
Reflecting on her time in the manor and Bennett's unsettling behavior, Ariana shuddered involuntarily.
She could only silently pray, hoping Adrian remained safe and unharmed.
Meanwhile, once Adrian felt certain he had outmaneuvered Bennett's surveillance, he discarded his disguise and hurried toward the meeting point agreed upon with Holden.
He had expected to leave through the gate without trouble. But suddenly, he heard a commotion behind him, along with voices.
"Have you found him?"
"No."
"Damn it! Where did that fake Kamdyn go?"
"Stop swearing and look for him! Our lives are on the line!"
