But even someone as naive as Ariana couldn't ignore the wild thoughts Theodore often had. She definitely didn't want there to be another misunderstanding like last time, no matter how small. So, she had to avoid doing anything that could let Theodore misunderstand her.

“Theodore said he is coming to pick me up. I guess he will arrive soon,” Ariana said suddenly, doing her best to behave naturally. She put on her coat and said to Tyler, "I'm leaving now. Make sure you have your dinner later."

“Okay, let me walk you out." Tyler was smart. He knew she wanted to avoid any misunderstanding with Theodore, so he didn't try to hold her back and walked her to the elevator.

When Ariana went downstairs, she put on a scarf and hummed a song. Guessing it might take a while for Theodore to arrive, Ariana planned to go to the nearby convenience store to pass time.

As soon as she stepped out of the lobby, she saw a familiar black car pull up under a tree. It was as if the car had been parked there for a long time.

Didn't Theodore say that he would call her when he arrived?

Ariana checked the time and realized it had only been thirteen minutes since Theodore called. How did he reach so quickly?

While she was lost in thought, Theodore called her again.

She didn't answer but trotted over to the black car instead. She knocked on the car's window before opening the door and sitting in the back seat.

Despite it being spring, the temperature was still cold.

As soon as Ariana got in the car, the heat enveloped her. She rubbed her hands comfortably before taking off her scarf.

She greeted Horace and asked, “How did you arrive so soon?"

Horace turned his head and replied with a smile, "Mr. Anderson happened to be dealing with something nearby, so we were just around the corner from here."

Ariana nodded and didn't ask more.

Horace started the car and rolled up the back seat partition.

Ariana turned to Theodore and grabbed his hand, rubbing it greedily to get his warmth.

The man indulged her and held out his other hand for her.

"[ told you about Tyler's drama on the phone, remember? We were just watching it.

It was so boring! I think the investors may lose money," Ariana said, feeling chatty.
