There were no street lights on the road, so they could only rely on the stars and the moon in the sky. However, it was still too dark and the fact that the road was surrounded by tall trees around it only made it even darker.

Along the way, Ariana barely missed pushing Theodore down a slope she hadn't seen. Fortunately, she reacted quickly and pulled him back in time.

They finally arrived on the slope at the end of the path, and waited for the meteor shower. There were still a few minutes before 10 p.m.

Theodore held Ariana's hand tightly. In fact, what he wanted was for her to sit on his laps.

However, Ariana refused. She was still shy.

"Don't. What if someone comes?"

"No one will come," Theodore said firmly. His hands were already wrapped around her waist from behind. He could easily pull her in his arms.

But Ariana wouldn't let him hold her. She was actually afraid that she would want more.

She hurriedly escaped from Theodore's arms and pushed the wheelchair to the other side of the slope. She said in a tone that she meant to be threatening, "There's no video surveillance here, and no one will know if I push you down."

However, Theodore was very calm.

“You won't. If you really do that, I will pull you down and we'll still be together in death."

"Do you think I want to die with you?" Ariana asked with a smile.

Just then, the laughter of two children came from far to near.

Ariana suddenly had a bad feeling. Before she could react, she was violently kicked from behind. She lost her balance and directly hit the wheelchair. Both she and Theodore fell down the slope.

The two kids shoved Ariana and Theodore hard.

Theodore was directly thrown out of the wheelchair. Seeing this, Ariana quickly let go of the wheelchair and reached out to him.

However, she was falling way too fast and she couldn't catch him. She barely managed to touch the corner of his clothes. Unable to keep her balance, Ariana tolled down the slope with Theodore.

Seeing the dire situation she was in, Ariana hurriedly protected her belly in panic.

Although the slope was high, it was not steep.

After a moment, Ariana felt herself falling into a warm, powerful embrace. The familiar breath she felt on her neck filled her with a sense of relief.
