Chapter: 247
“Auntie, trust me.
I know what I'm doing. Don't worry, I won't lose my way again.”
Looking at Barlow's handsome face, Haleigh sighed slightly and reached out to tidy up his neat shirt.
“Barlow, your mother passed away early, and I know you harbor resentment. However, there's a thing called karma in this world. ALL I want now is for you to live a peaceful life. I'm sure your mother would want the same."
The Hughes family had treated Barlow coldly. But it was understandable.
After all, her mother had done something wrong. Unfortunately, Barlow had suffered due to his mother's actions.
“Auntie, I understand." Barlow embraced Haleigh gently, whispering his reassurance.
Just then, his phone rang. Barlow took it out and looked at it coldly.
He gestured for Haleigh to get in the car before answering the call.
“Hi, Terry."
“Barlow, I heard you've returned. Can we meet up?"
“Sure.”
What was bound to happen would eventually occur. He had to confront those he needed to face.
After sending Haleigh off, Rosalynn returned to her work.
Although Maggie's eyes were still red, she was still calm.
"Maggie, are you alright?" Rosalynn asked with concern.
Maggie managed a weak smile, replying, "I'm fine.”
“What do you plan on doing next?”
Maggie bit her lip, at a loss for words.
Rosalynn moved closer to Maggie, grasping her hand.
“Maggie, each person is unique. No one has the right to treat you this way."
Maggie offered a grateful smile.
