Barlow grinned and watched her stomp out of the room and slam the door behind her. When he was alone again, he dropped his smile and pressed his hand against his chest. A tremor shook his body.

Under the blanket, his white shirt was stained with a bit of blood.

Barlow closed his eyes and heard Kennedi's voice inside his head.

"I won't kill you, Barlow, but I won't let you go, either! I will destroy everything you love!"

Barlow was leading a dangerous life. He didn't deserve to have someone by his side.

Meanwhile, Rosalynn finally managed to catch up to Karina.

She glanced at her friend's red-rimmed eyes and pulled her in for a hug.

“Karina, have you fallen in love with him?"

Karina said nothing, but Rosalynn felt her tighten her arms around her.

Rosalynn gently stroked her friend's back.

“Don't worry, I'll get even with that jerk."

Karina immediately straightened with a sniff and a quick swipe at her eyes.

"No, Rosalynn. Thank you, but no. It's all my fault. I fell for him after a few casual flirtations. I always fall in Love with someone I shouldn't. Maybe I should just swear off men altogether."

“ALL right." Rosalynn smiled.

“In that case, you have my permission to fall for me. We can spend the rest of our lives together."

Karina giggled.

“No way, what if your avid suitor finds out? He will no doubt hunt me down and kill me."

Rosalynn snorted.

"Who would dare? I'll make their Life a Living hell!"

“Well, since you insist, I suppose I have no choice but to Like you from now on."

“Heck yeah! Okay, come along, my sweetie. Let's go get something to eat."
