Chapter: 1064
“Indeed. Raymond readily consented.
After Bill had hung up the call, he turned to look at Maria smugly. Vivian was over the moon but a flicker of annoyance did cross her face when she saw Julie's complexion which was deathly pale.
Julie only cared about Maria! Vivian was grumbling inwardly.
“Maria, did you hear all of that?" Bill bragged.
“Yes, I heard every word."
Maria's voice and expression were equally calm.
She then pressed her red cellphone against her ear and asked, "Anthony, did you catch all of that as well?"
Maria was as cool as a cucumber.
Bill was surely taken aback. He couldn't help but look at Maria nervously, and his gaze eventually fell on the red phone in her hand.
It turned out that Maria was in a middle of a phone call with Anthony, and she had put him on speaker.
“Yes, I did." Breaking the silence, Anthony's voice echoed from the phone.
His tone was very calm, as if what he had heard was just something unimportant.
Hearing how Anthony answered, Bill and Vivian breathed a sigh of relief. They thought that he would react violently, but he didn't. It turned out that he didn't care that much about Maria after all.
Then, Bill noticed that Maria wanted to say something more. He was afraid that she would persuade Anthony to be on her side, so he quickly reached out to grab Maria's phone.
In fact, Maria immediately saw what Bill was trying to do. She could easily dodge him if she wanted, but she didn't. Instead, she willingly let go of her phone, so Bill could get it.
Effortlessly getting Maria's phone, Bill glanced at her and snorted sarcastically.
He deliberately raised his voice and said, “Anthony, this is your Uncle Bill. I actually feel sorry for what happened this time."
“I see," Anthony replied noncommittally.
With a subtle sneer, Bill continued, "I just want to say that Maria isn't good enough for you. At the same time, we-your Uncle Raymond and I-have made a decision. Now that you and Maria haven't gotten married yet, I advise that you break up with her as soon as possible. Anthony, you're a man with great stature. I‘m sure you'll find your perfect match eventually."
Bill didn't dare say anything harsh to Anthony, even though it was clear to him that Anthony was not the heir of the Wilson family anymore.
In the end, since Bill flattered Anthony, he thought that the latter would do him a favor and agree with him.
He thought that they were on the same page, since Anthony didn't seem to have any concern for Maria after all.
“You're telling me to cancel the engagement? I don’t remember agreeing to something Like that." Anthony's tone was still cold, but more than that, it sounded a bit full of irony.
Hearing this, Bill was stunned and confused at the same time. He didn't know what was going on and felt that something was wrong.
