Chapter: 1088
“But, they—"
“I don't care about what they think of me," Maria said in a low voice.
Unbeknownst to her, Darren wasn't the only one who heard her.
The microphones used by the production team were very sophisticated, and every word she had just said was captured clearly by the device.
Up on the front seat, the director was wearing headphones while he listened to the recording in real time.
The assistant director sat beside him, doing the same thing on his own headphones.
When he heard Maria's words, the assistant director couldn't help but frown. "We should probably cut that part during the editing stage."
His suggestion was an act of mercy.
After all, Maria had sounded so self-important just now. It could easily be taken as a sign of disrespect to the show's other guests, unless she could somehow prove that she was truly knowledgeable about the universities.
But of course, that was impossible.
“No, there's no need for that," the director said, “We should just leave it as it is."
"Huh?"
The assistant director was confused for a moment, but he quickly understood the director's intent. He wanted to create a buzz.
As long as people talked about their show, the director was willing to broadcast unfiltered scenes, even if it meant that one of the guests would gain negative traction from the public
Besides, it didn't have anything to do with him whether Maria got bashed on the Internet or not. She was the one who had voiced her opinions, so it was only expected that she handled the consequences. AS for the production team, they would gladly welcome the media attention and viewer ratings that came with Maria's inevitable issue.
Before long, the bus arrived at the north campus of the Sheffield University.
“Ladies and gentlemen!" the director suddenly announced in a loud, booming voice.
“There is an important matter you must all be aware of."
He waited for everyone to settle down before continuing. "A committee from Broome University's research institute is currently here for an academic forum with the Mathematics School of Sheffield University.
We are fortunate to have been granted permission to enter the venue. Please be sure to greet the esteemed experts on behalf of our fans.
These scientists are nationally recognized as pioneers in the field of research. They show great promise and are bound to bring glory to our country.
Your task, my dear guests, is to use your charisma and eloquence to reveal these geniuses’ charms to our audience. The aim is to motivate the viewers to study harder and strive for their personal and professional growth!"
After hearing the director's instructions, the once laid-back atmosphere in the bus instantly turned somber. Even the production team seemed to be tense.
From this point onward, the six guests would have to engage in intellectual conversations with the scientists, and ask them about topics that the fans might be curious about.
