Chapter: 1098
She didn't understand the different roles but she also could judge that the difference must be big.

Time was up for the production team since the scientists resumed their meeting.

The director led the team out of the venue without Maria's identity having been completely figured out yet.

The title of "researcher" didn't sound particularly lofty, after all. Besides, Gary said Maria didn't really work for them.

That sounded even more informal.

The cameramen had stopped shooting, and were waiting for further instructions from the director.

However, the man was still in a dazed state. He uttered the term "researcher" under his breath over and over, looking like he had somehow Lost his sanity.

The regular guests were all celebrities. They never ventured outside the entertainment industry, and therefore knew nothing about academic titles.

They were sharp enough to notice something strange, though. When they had first arrived at the venue, there hadn't been much excitement to go around.

It was understandable, since showbiz personalities rarely appealed to intellectual scholars.

But at this very moment, they were suddenly witnessing an unprecedented frenzy, the kind that usually occurred whenever they appeared in front of their fans.

But then... Why were all eyes fixed on Maria?

It was bizarre, to say the least.

“May I take a photo with you?"

A timid voice piped up from somewhere behind them. Lyman, Shera, Beuford, and Vivian all Looked back in unison, expecting to see a fan asking to take a picture with them.

Instead, they found a woman in her Late twenties staring at Maria, her eyes wide with unabashed adoration.

“Of course," Maria smiled amiably and took a photo with the woman.

“Thank you, Professor Jenkins!"

The woman bowed respectfully to Maria before rushing back to her friends.

The guests watched as the woman scampered back to a group of young scholars, who then proceeded to huddle over her phone and stare at the photo with envy.

Some of them even looked up and gazed at Maria with unmistakable learning. Clearly, they also wanted a photo taken with her.

Vivian did not understand what was happening, but she knew that she absolutely hated it.

“Let's get out of here," she told the director, her voice quiet and urgent. "We can't afford to delay the shoot for Maria's sake."

She was right since My College Life had constantly been on a tight schedule.
