Chapter: 1140
“Are you trying to suggest that the person who poisoned Judy might have left fingerprints on the thermos cup? Indeed, as Long as the police use professional equipment to do the fingerprints feature extraction and matching, I believe that the criminal will be soon found."
This was not the first time that Elma had drugged someone, so she was well aware of the removal of fingerprints.
She carried in her bag a bottle of cream that resembled ordinary hand cream. But it was some type of special wax.
Once it was applied to the fingertips, one could feel free to touch anything without leaving any fingerprints behind. And this kind of wax dried up and fell off easily.
Just now, Elma had quietly rubbed her hands behind her back and wiped off all the wax that had been applied to her fingertips. Plainly stated, there were only Rylee's and Judy's fingerprints on the cup.
Elma chuckled to herself smugly for her perfect calculation.
“Then let's wait for the police to come and take fingerprints for comparison. I'm willing to be the first one to do it!" Elma said ina loud, proud voice.
The confidence in her voice had made the judges and the owner of the recording studio all assume that she was innocent.
However, Rylee bowed her head the whole time. She knew that her fingerprints would be on the cup even before matching them.
Everyone looked at Rylee suspiciously. Even she wished that the police could come quickly and take her away from this dreaded place. She felt accusing eyes plunging into her back
“Fingerprints? I didn't say anything about the fingerprints,” Maria chortled.
Now Elma became apprehensive.
"If not fingerprints, then what other evidence could the perpetrator have left on the cup?" Francis asked curiously.
Maria nodded, "As I said, the outer layer of the cup is frosted. However, with low-end and inferior frosting technology, the frosting finish tends to fall off easily. In other words, anyone who has used this cup may get the abrasive particles that come off the surface of the cup onto their hands, clothes, or shoes."
Francis's eyes Lit up. "So, all the police need to do now is to test to see who has frosted particles on their body. Am I right?"
The onlookers* eyes widened as they wondered how Maria could possibly have this kind of uncommon knowledge. It appeared as if she had engaged in professional criminal investigations and case-solving work.
Elma's mind was racing against the clock.
Suddenly something occurred to her. She said with a sneer, “Did you just say that this could happen with inferior frosting technology? But Rylee's thermal cup is an international brand. This one is at least worth about a thousand dollars. Will the outer layer of the cup rub off? I'm sure expensive and advanced technology must have been used in it."
Her words reminded everyone that Maria's idea might not work.
That made sense!
Rylee, a rising star in the world of singing, was wealthy enough to dress with well-known brands from head to foot. Her thermal cup must also be a brand design and therefore the quality was guaranteed.
“Well... Not exactly..."
Before Maria could say anything, Rylee courageously opened her mouth.
“My cup is not an original brand. It's a knockoff that I bought online... And it was very cheap. The price is only one-tenth of a real one."
