Chapter: 1156
Now that they would soon get a great fortune, Patricia thought there was no reason why she should live frugally. She set herself up for a rich lifestyle in advance of her windfall.
Vivian had no objection to that, as she was no less a spendthrift than Patricia. There was no one who spent more recklessly than Vivian and Patricia in Hughes Group.
"Mom, L want to reveal my identity as the author of Song of Phoenix ahead of schedule," Vivian said as she ground her teeth, her eyes filled with resentment. She wanted a piece of the thunder.
“I want the whole world to know that Polly Miller is none other than Vivian Jenkins. They need to know that the Leading actress of the movie is also the talented author of the original novel! What a pleasant surprise it will be for everyone!"
“Are you serious, Vivian?" Patricia was stunned at first but then she quickly understood why Vivian would want to do that. She had to upstage Maria.
After some quick introspection, she nodded and said, “Okay, I can assure you of my full support for your plan. I think it's a great idea.
But, maybe you should still inform Julie about it first."
The Jenkins' family villa was in disarray. Since Bill and Vivian moved out, the house was left empty and unattended. Everything was covered in layers of dust.
After Julie returned from Sheffield but moved into Anthony's villa with Maria, no one was sent to care for it.
But today, the villa was thoroughly cleaned by professional cleaners and it suddenly took on a bright, new Life.
On the coffee table in the living room, an experienced maid, who was just hired, had prepared fragrant tea, aromatic coffee and exquisite dessert.
Julie sat on the sofa, scowling. Initially, she did not want to come. However, Vivian kept begging her on the phone. Calling her mom, made the difference.
Julie had a cold face but a soft heart. She didn't have the heart to refuse her daughter whom she had raised for 20 years, even though Vivian was only adopted. Finally Julie agreed to come here.
“Mom, do have some tea." Vivian smiled courteously.
“Umm... Sure. Thanks."
Julie picked up the cup of fragrant tea prepared by the maid and took a sip. She was not impressed at all.
There were three people sitting opposite her. Bill, Patricia and Vivian.
This scene was such a paradox.
It almost seemed Like they were a close family of three, and she was an outsider.
The feeling became strained especially when Julie keenly observed that Bill and Patricia were wearing rings on their significant ring fingers.
It was natural for Bill to wear a ring since he was indeed a married man.
But it certainly didn't make any sense for Patricia, who had been single for years, to wear a wedding ring.
Whom did she marry?
“Julie, we haven't seen each other for a long time. You Look even more beautiful. I'm really happy for you," Patricia said, trying to sound sincere.
