Before coming here, Anthony had his fears about what would happen if the Jenkins family actually did arrange blind dates for Maria.

But now, seeing how the Jenkins family had made her stay in the shabbiest house in the estate, he was somehow relieved.

Judging by Maria‘s current situation, the Jenkins wouldn't consider marrying her to some rich guy to gain interest for the family.

"Mrs. Jenkins, I do have some news. Mr. Acosta has a thing for Maria. He seems to be smitten with her," reported the butler to the Jenkins matriarch as soon as he returned.

"Is that so?"

Mrs. Jenkins commented without any real emotion.

After all the time Elton had spent in the Jenkins family, she knew him quite well.

The man was always looking at a woman. No woman could walk by him without being scouted.

Mrs. Jenkins thought it was a such a pity. If he wasn’t such a womanizer and chose to put his energy to good use, he might be able to become a grade 4 pill alchemist.

"Do you know what he plans to do?" she asked his butler.

The butler lowered his voice and said, "Mr. Acosta mentioned that it would be convenient and lovely if Maria could be assigned as his assistant or something of the sort."

Mrs. Jenkins nodded slowly, a meaningful smile on her face. She knew what was in that brain of Elton's. He wanted to take advantage of Maria and not have to take any responsibility.

Contrary to what her normal reaction should have been, Mr. Jenkins was anything but repulsed by this, or in disagreement of what Elton wanted to do.

Maybe it was because she had gotten used to this, or maybe she had seen something worse and couldn't be fazed anymore. She had no problem giving Elton what he wanted.

“Since that is what Elton wants, then..."

Mrs. Jenkins started, but Doris rushed into the room and said, "Mrs. Jenkins, Patricia is asking to have an audience with you."

Being Bill's wife, it made sense that Patricia was recognized by the Jenkins family.

Since Bill was the matriarch's nephew, then Patricia was her niece—-in-law.

Elton officially took Vivian under his wing today as his apprentice and this greatly boosted Vivian's status and that of her parents in the Jenkins family.

Patricia felt that she had the right to see Mrs. Jenkins, seeing as she was the mother of a soon-to-be pill alchemist.

A few moments later, a charming middle-aged lady walked in.

"Mrs. Jenkins, it's an honor to meet you," Patricia said gracefully and respectfully, swallowing her pride and getting low on her knees.
