Chapter: 1281
Also, just as Maria had expected, Elton and the other Jenkins who were already present at the square all came with their own attendants.
Vivian was no exception. As a matter of fact, she was given the opportunity, as the fifth grade talent, to choose the best attendant who was of the first grade ancient martial arts.
Doris huffed and said crossly, “Just so you know, Miss Maria, there are no spare tickets for you."
“That's fine," Maria replied easily, meaningfully glancing at the others and their attendants. Doris looked away and flushed in embarrassment .
The family had actually bought enough tickets for all the talents who were to attend the auction and their attendants.
Since it was a very famous and high-class event, they would obviously meet members from other clans.
It would be humiliating if these other members had their attendants with them and the members of the Jenkins family didn't.
But of course, Doris only saw this as a way to stuff some more money into her pockets.
The Jenkins family had in fact allocated three tickets to Maria, for her and her attendants, but Doris made sure the rest two never got to her. She sold the tickets to other Jenkins who were actually not qualified to take part in the auction.
“Miss Maria, maybe you've misunderstood me. Your two attendants cannot enter the auction without tickets," Doris said angrily and walked away.
Elton had been stealing glances at Maria since she joined them.
He itched to go to her, but he reminded himself of the plan Doris told him that Mrs. Jenkins had put in place. He was going to have a lot of time during the auction to showcase in front of Maria and impress her.
He always boasted of being a gentleman and hated forcing himself on a woman in any way.
So, he was certain that this little plan would work. Maria would fall for him after seeing him spend so much money to please her. Just the thought of it put a smile on Elton's face. His heart was bursting from the anticipation.
So he held his impulsions back and looked away. Vivian, however, had been staring at Maria.
She was very upset. She couldn't understand why Maria would be qualified to attend such a high-end event.
Elton would lead the team to purchase a batch of some pills for the Jenkins family, as well as raw materials for the pills that he specialised in producing.
Vivian, being his apprentice, naturally got the opportunity to attend the event and increase her knowledge.
The other members of the Jenkins family present didn't exactly have the talent of refining pills, but they were all good at other forms of ancient martial arts.
Even so, Vivian was in a very bad mood to see Maria among them.
Then, when she heard Doris muttering to herself, "I only gave her one ticket for herself. I'd like to see how her attendants would get into the auction hall."
Vivian's head clicked into a place and her mind started turning.
She instantly came up with a plan.
She turned to her servant and said in a low voice, "I need you to steal Maria's ticket before we get there."
