Chapter: 1439
Hearing that, the hostess was even more confused. Did Maria not want to make a painting or something? The hostess had been worrying just now that she would have to find some special paper and pens for Maria in the middle of the auction. It turned out that she had nothing to worry about.

Soon, one of the staff brought over a pen and paper, and they even went so far as to set up a table for Maria.

At this point, the guests had already started to feel bored and impatient. After all, the Jenkins family wasn't considered a top ancient clans, at least not in the past twenty years. They weren't happy that the Jenkins family ate up so much of the event's time, and they were certainly not looking forward to seeing whatever Maria was going to present in the end.

"No matter what she writes, my family won't pay a penny for it!"

"Yes, our clan isn't stupid enough to participate in this bidding either! The Jenkins family was just a small clan. How could they steal the spotlight for so long? This is a complete waste of time!”

“We won't bid for it, either. I doubt this little girl will write anything extraordinary."

The complaints of the audience made the hostess feel secondhand embarrassment. Barbara, who was also sitting in the audience, was stunned at first when she heard the guests’ rude remarks, but then she started to snicker.

What happened today would soon be known to all the major clans through various channels.

“I'm sure grandma will get the news soon. Maria not only disgraced the Jenkins family, but she also managed to offend a lot of the other clans. I can't wait to see how miserable Maria will be after this! Grandma probably wouldn't let her hear the end of it!" Barbara whispered complacently.

By then, Maria had finished her work and put down the pen.

“Is she done?" The hostess only took a quick glance at the paper and found that Maria had written something that looked Like a prescription. It listed more than a dozen kinds of medicinal materials with detailed instructions, along with some refining methods. Immediately, she realized that it wasn't a prescription, but some sort of secret elixir formula!

“Please... Miss Jenkins, please explain your item to the audience.. Despite being a seasoned hostess, her mind went completely blank and she stuttered onstage.

Maria nodded, picked up the microphone, and addressed the audience calmly, "My auction item is a pill formula. It's the Peony Pill, a third-grade pill.”

The audience gasped in shock.

An elixir formula! And it wasn't just an ordinary elixir formula. It was a third-grade one!

Twenty years ago, the Jenkins family used to be famous for their alchemic skills in the ancient martial world. However, that was all in the past. Weren't they way past their prime? How could they be willing to give out not one but two elixir formulas at such an ordinary charity auction?

Sitting in the audience, Barbara's face instantly fell. She didn't expect Maria to have something so groundbreaking up her sleeve. More importantly, she never thought Maria had the formula for the Peony Pill!

Who on earth gave her this third-grade elixir formula?

Even the senior members of the Jenkins family would never be able to accomplish such a thing! Did Anthony help her? Barbara glared at Maria onstage with resentment and jealousy.

“The Peony Pill? If it's a third-grade pill, why haven't I heard about ite"

A curious guest couldn't help but question the veracity of Maria's claim. It was an old man in his sixties. With his experience, it wasn't embarrassing for him to admit that he had never heard of the Peony Pill. On the contrary, since it came from an elder, it was Maria who was now obliged to give the audience an explanation about the formula.

“Yeah! I've never heard of it, too!"

“Peony Pill? I've never heard of anything like that in my life!"

"What's the effect of this so-called third-grade pill? I'm all ears!" Seeing this, the hostess knew that she had to seize control of the situation before it was too Late. And to get the auction back on track, she knew the only way to appease the guests was to give them answers.
