Chapter: 1534
However, all Anthony did was flash a gentle smile, inquiring, "What brings you here?"

With cheeks full of fruit, Judy mumbled, "Maria mentioned... Fruits are healthy.”

Anthony's nod showed his understanding.

Maria must've instilled in Judy the idea of the benefits of fruits.

Maria used to tell him that as well.

Had Maria sent Judy to deliver these fruits to him?

Before Anthony could respond, Barbara, masking her surprise with sarcasm, remarked, "Mr. Wilson, are all your female employees this audacious? Bold enough to offer fruits during a business meeting?"

She shot Anthony a loaded look, trying to gauge his reaction.

Barbara critiqued an employee of the Sky Group in front of Anthony, believing that she did nothing wrong since she was here representing the Jenkins family.

Given that Anthony was seeing Maria, this striking yet naive woman couldn't be Anthony's girlfriend.

Simply put, this lady was a regular employee who, perhaps, used her looks to gain favor with her superior. Hence, Barbara assumed she could scold Judy as she pleased.

Yet to Barbara's astonishment, Judy retorted as soon as Barbara was done speaking.

"You're an outsider here. This doesn't concern you."

With Judy's genuine demeanor and soft voice, her words lacked hostility.

In reality, Judy was just puzzled as to why someone not affiliated with the Sky Group would try to stick her nose and make comments like that.

Listening to this, Barbara felt a pang of embarrassment.

Judy had a point. She was indeed an outsider.

Barbara hadn't anticipated such a response from Judy.

“Why couldn't I call you out?" Barbara responded, anger evident in her tightened jaw.

Observing Barbara for a moment, an idea seemed to dawn on Judy.

“Are you in need of funds? Looking to join us?"

“Short on funds? Do I look like that? It's ridiculous!"

Barbara was taken aback by the insinuation.

She took a moment to glance over her outfit. Did her attire suggest she was in dire need of a job?
