Chapter: 1581
"Doris, what the hell is going on here?"

A luxurious car halted gracefully at the tail end of the red carpet.

Barbara alighted, her eyes wide as the public enveloped Maria with feverish welcome and praises.

Barbara tried to understand the scene. Why was Maria back at the estate before her?

And why were the Jenkins household members showering Maria with praises?

What about her? This was infuriating! Wasn't this supposed to be her moment?

“Miss Herrera, please allow me a moment to explain." Doris was drowning in embarrassment.

What was initially planned as a grand celebration for Barbara had, in a twist of fate, evolved into an accolade for Maria.

Doris had failed to handle the situation properly and inadvertently upset Barbara. She was now racking her brain on how to report the mishap to Mrs. Jenkins.

The attendees, previously summoned for this occasion, took notice of Barbara's car pulling up.

A medley of expressions played across their faces.

The truth of this whole thing wasn't lost on anyone. They were in the throes of a monumental mix-up!

Barbara, acutely aware of the scrutinizing eyes upon her, felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment.

In a desperate bid to rectify matters, Doris gestured animatedly, exclaiming, "Miss Herrera has also passed the Pill Alchemist Association's examination! Join me in congratulating her!"

A tepid applause followed, punctuated by lukewarm praises such as "Well done," "Impressive and "A commendable feat."

However, compared to Maria, Barbara's accomplishments seemed rather lackluster.

Maria's achievements were undoubtedly remarkable. Not only had she passed the examination, but she had also been honored with a helicopter ride courtesy of the Pill Alchemist Association.

The Jenkins family's once expectant gaze now held a touch of indifference as they turned to Barbara.

It wasn't a matter of undermining Barbara's accomplishments. They just weren't inclined to feign interest.

“What is wrong with all of you?" Barbara, feeling the weight of their detached glances, simmered with frustration, her gaze clashing with Doris’.

"Reuben, you need to solve this right away!" In her distress, Doris sought out her husband, Reuben.

Reuben was a seasoned butler with two decades of experience and far more tact than Doris possessed.

Reuben, attempting to regain control, announced, "The Luncheon is set to commence. Mrs. Jenkins awaits us. I urge everyone to move to the main hall."

Clearing the gathered people seemed the right choice to ease the tense mood.
