Chapter: 1601
“Me? An eligible male member? I could practically be Marilyn's father!"
Raymond pointed at himself.
It was only at this moment that he grasped a single crucial detail.
He had been outwitted by Anthony and Michael.
In a posh residential neighborhood in Broome.
Marilyn came back home, her anger simmering quietly at the recent events. Upon stepping into the living room, she spotted her father, who was leisurely sipping tea.
“Oh, you're back. How did things go with the Wilson family?"
Marilyn's father, Jaxon, had started his career as a neurosurgeon at Broome Medical University's affiliated hospital. He later became the director of a prestigious private hospital until retiring last year.
He currently held the esteemed position of honorary chairman in a medical association, which was a testament to his exceptional reputation and history.
“Hmm... It was merely alright," Marilyn responded, no longer concealing her frustration.
"What? Did the Wilson family treat you poorly? Wasn't Raymond courteous? Is it Anthony?"
Jaxon furrowed his brows in concern.
Although they hailed from Sheffield, with their wealth and connections, the Wilson family shouldn't cause Marilyn such distress.
Yet, it appeared that the Wilson family Lacked an understanding of proper etiquette.
"Dad, let's not dwell on it," Marilyn said, shaking her head.
"There are plenty of fish in the sea. We don't need to pay them any more attention."
Despite Marilyn's words, Jaxon knew her inside out.
This year, Jaxon had set up numerous blind dates for Marilyn, but she didn't have a thing for all those blind dates. Yet, when a medical consultation from the Wilson family was extended to Marilyn, she readily agreed for the sake of meeting Anthony.
"Well, the Wilson family is not powerful enough to be considered an ancient martial arts clan. It might be on par with the Smith family at best. How dare they show our family disrespect!"
A cold gleam flickered in Jaxon's eyes.
“Ever since my wife's passing, they seem to underestimate our family.
It's time to remind them that the Barnes family from the martial world is our kin. My wife's brothers are esteemed masters in the Association of Healthcare Professionals and the Pill Alchemist Association!"
He paused briefly before continuing, “As for the Smith family in Broome and the Wilson family in Sheffield, I'll have my brothers-in- law look into them. If these two families have dealings with the Pill Alchemist Association and the Association of Healthcare Professionals, we'll start cutting into their profits and market share this year, ensuring their earnings decline gradually!"
Marilyn nodded in agreement. She understood why her father was at odds with the Smith family.
