Chapter: 1615
His knowledge of the world of martial arts was minimal. Besides, it wasn't easy to learn anything about it.
“Mr. Rivera, can you make sense of this?" Raymond inquired.
After all, Jaxon had been the one to notice the magic in Maria's medical treatment regarding Michael's condition, so Raymond approached Jaxon with eagerness.
“Well, becoming a healer in martial arts medicine requires extraordinary capabilities. It's unlikely for one to achieve much without significant skills," Jaxon managed to reply, almost spilling out all he knew about the martial arts medicine.
“But what if Maria is exceptionally skilled?" Raymond pressed, somewhat tactlessly.
Jaxon appeared uncomfortable.
Truth be told, with his expertise in modern medicine, he couldn't tell how well Maria's skills in martial arts medicine were.
Yet, not wanting to lose face, Jaxon chuckled nervously and remarked, “Well, to be frank, my brother-in-law is a prominent member of the Association of Healthcare Professionals. I'll record a video of Maria's medical treatment for him to assess Maria's skills."
With that, Jaxon began to record with his phone, not bothering to ask Maria for permission.
Maria, for her part, was focused on a delicate task. She was inserting three shiny needles, charged with the energy of her martial arts, into Michael to cleanse his system. She didn't seem to notice Jaxon filming her from behind.
Jaxon was careful, though. He steered clear of capturing Michael's or Maria's faces on camera, choosing instead to zoom in on the precise spots where the needles were placed and on Maria's skilled hand movements.
Jaxon quickly sent the video he captured to a contact saved as Mr. Barnes on WhatsApp.
Although being family, Jaxon would always address Mr. Barnes with the utmost respect, mindful not to upset a man of such high standing in the world of martial arts.
Jaxon sent a text with the video, "Mr. Barnes, could you do me a favor when you're available? I'd like to listen to your professional advice on this. Is this an acupuncture technique unique to healers of the world of martial arts?"
Even after sending the text, Jaxon still examined his words to see if there was anything improper.
Jaxon had expected his messages to be ignored, given the receiver's arrogance and tight schedule.
But, to his astonishment, Mr. Barnes responded within a minute, just long enough time to watch the video, with an immediate phone call.
"Hello? Mr. Barnes? Is that you?" Jaxon answered the phone, a mix of shock and curiosity in his voice.
"Is this Jaxon?"
The reply was a stern male voice that seemed to carry an air of authority.
"Yes, it's me."
“What's this video about? Who's this medical expert you're filming?
Did you ask for the permission? Listen, don't cross this person, or I won't be able to help you!"
This barrage of questions made Jaxon freeze on the spot.
