Chapter: 187
“Grandmaster Division, Fifth Grade. I am an engineer," Jay described his prowess.
In team mode, the engineers were in charge of building and maintaining the stronghold.
It was unnecessary to describe Darren's attributes. He was the squad captain, therefore naturally he was the most dangerous player.
There was silence on Maria's part. It seemed as if she was deliberating how to introduce her gaming talent.
In the end, she spoke.
“I'm versatile enough to play anywhere you need me to.”
Play any position?
Everyone seemed to wonder how she could play any position as a pro. Almost immediately, Jay thought Maria was terrible at the game. Her response was consistent with that of most first-timers.
If players spent enough time in Wasteland, they'd eventually discover the role that suited them best.
There were some who excelled at fixing people up, those who were fearless in battle, and those who could put up solid structures. A person who was competent in any role did not exist in senior ranks.
Only inexperienced players would try and play every position.
Lyndsey agreed with this assessment but refrained from voicing it. She merely asked in a euphemistic manner, "Maria, why don't you join me and serve as a healer?"
A typical squad size was five people, including three riflemen, one healer, and one engineer.
Now only Darren could perform the role of rifleman among the four of them. It didn't seem to be a productive setup.
Jay smiled bitterly and continued, “I hope the final member of our squad is a rifleman."
It didn't matter if Darren were the best player on the team. They still just wouldn't do very well in the exhibition game if they didn't have enough riflemen.
"Do you play Wasteland?" It was Maria's first time initiating a conversation between her and Anthony.
Even Maria couldn't help but feel a little strange and giddy. The first message she sent to her fiance was to ask if he was playing this online game.
“Yes, Ido."
Anthony quickly replied. It seemed that he was a bit busy, so he just answered briefly.
