Chapter: 222
“Aren't they worried that people would steal these stuff?" Maria even recognized several top-grade antiques on the table at a glance.
While she was complaining about the unnecessary extravagance of Villa No. 1, she suddenly received a message from Anthony.
“Make sure to enjoy yourself. Don't forget that I am the owner of the hotel. So don't hold yourself back.”
It was a considerate and warm reminder, but Maria felt something odd. It was as if Anthony's usual elegance wasn't there. He now acted more like a nouveau riche trying to impress his new girlfriend.
With a smirk in her face, she teased him with a reply, “Are you flaunting your wealth on me?"
But then Anthony quickly answered, “I don't think you quite understand how rich people usually flaunt their wealth. Do you want me to show you how it's done someday?"
Maria panicked a little and immediately took back her words. That was the last thing she wanted to happen. She never wanted to be the center of attention. "No, please don't. I'm sorry I even suggested that. Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Wilson."
What she didn't know was that on the other side of the line, there was a wicked and naughty smile on Anthony's face.
“What are you so happy about?"
In a cafe in Sheffield, which was only open to serve a small range of special customers, Allen and the others were drinking coffee with Anthony.
It was rare for Anthony to smile like this while on his phone. It was as if he was planning something evil, so the others felt a little uneasy.
"I was just chatting with Maria." Anthony waved his hand and spoke in an indifferent tone.
Hearing Maria's name, the others were surprised that these two would message each other regularly, like a sweet engaged couple.
Stephen chimed in, “Well, we can see it in your face. You must dote on her very much.”
Jack, who was refilling the coffee for Anthony and his friends, trembled slightly when he heard this.
He wanted to scream that doting wasn't even enough to begin describing what Anthony was doing for Maria!
Anthony shrugged and let out a faint smile. "Well, she is my fiancee. Of course, it's only natural that I treat her well, isn't it?"
The others nodded and continued praising him for being such a good fiance.
Afterward, Anthony sent another message to Maria.
“Miss Jenkins, please remember not to ask the hotel staff to lower the standard of the accommodation and catering prepared for you. Keep in mind that you are my fiancee. During your training, depending on my schedule, I may go to the hotel and visit you."
