Chapter: 334
“My daughter.
Julie sat on the sofa in the living room of the villa with a throw pillow in her arms. Her gaze was blank, as if she had fallen into a distant memory.
She was indeed trying to recall some things from the past.
It was twenty years ago. She was pregnant and eventually gave birth to anew life.
At that time, she was not even married.
In fact, she was extremely pretty that countless young talents in Broome regarded her as their dream woman. Moreover, she was a lineal daughter of the Smith Family.
When Maria returned to the Jenkins family home, she found only Julie and the maid home.
Although the maid, Lily, was a pesky, annoying being, at least there were no others around to disturb the peace.
“Maria, you're back. That's lovely.”
Julie stood up and greeted her warmly.
Maria noticed a bowl of noodles on the coffee table in the Living room. The noodles meal seemed to have been abandoned after a few bites. Even the soup had turned cold.
The scent of the noodles wafted in the air. Maria could distinctly detect that the seasonings used in these noodles were similar to what she used. But the aroma that she produced in her noodles were seriously lacking in these noodles. Maria's noodles were delicious compared to this insipid meal.
When Julie noticed Maria staring at the noodles with an upturned nose, she said with embarrassment, "I was feeling a Little peckish so I asked Lily to cook some noodles for me."
The maid, who was standing at the corner of the Living room, nodded with a flattering smile.
But her eyes said the otherwise because she was fired by the domestic service company because of Maria.
Now, Julie asked her to cook noodles, but they couldn't match the taste of the noodles cooked by Maria, so Julie was disappointed.
Lily was panicked and hated Maria more than before, but she tried and disguised her resentment.
“If you were hungry, then why didn't you finish your meal?" Maria asked. It didn't make sense. Julie Looked at the bowl of noodles. Feeling awkward, she replied, "I lost my appetite after a few bites." She didn't want to admit the real reason relating to taste, nor did she want to trouble Maria and ask her to cook noodles for her.
“Now tell me, what do you want from me?"
Maria made herself comfortable on the sofa. Although she had a beautiful and almost perfect face, she was by no means an obedient daughter.
