Chapter: 341
The fact of the matter was, Julie was the one who was in charge of the Jenkins family's finance, because it was her dowry that was the biggest fortune of their family.
When she had gotten married to Bill, she had cut off contact with her parents.
However, she had shares in the Smith family's business. When getting married, she had sold these shares and brought the revenue to the Jenkins family as dowry.
It was with a portion of that money that Bill was able to start his own business and succeed. However, most of that money, which had grown over the years, was still in Julie's hands.
Now, if the Jenkins family wanted to invest in Patricia's new company, they could only do so with the Large sum of money which was under Julie's control.
“Julie, you don't have to worry about the company's operations. I'LL take care of it and make sure that nothing goes wrong," Bill explained reassuringly, even with a hint of respect in his tone.
Over the years, every time Bill needed Julie's dowry for something, he would act Like the most gentle and considerate husband in the world.
Julie remained silent.
Her silence was a sign that she didn't trust Bill yet.
Bill coaxed, "Julie, you've never cared about such trivial matters. Why are you suddenly asking about it today? It's a boring topic. Let's talk about something else, okay? I heard that there is a top foreign symphony orchestra coming to perform in our city soon. How about I book a VIP ticket for you right now?"
Normally, Julie would be distracted by the mere mention of a symphony orchestra, and would even excitedly ask about the setlist.
But now, she just looked at Bill with clear eyes, waiting for a proper answer from him.
“Julie... We're only investing in this new company for Vivian's sake. Don't forget that once the new company is established, Patricia will support our daughter. To secure a good future for Vivian, we have to invest in the company no matter how much money we spend!"
Bill said passionately, as if he was a great father determined to pave @ good path for his beloved daughter.
At this point, Julie took the chance to finally broach the subject that had been bothering her for a long time.
"You are really good to Vivian, even though she's only an adopted daughter, just like Maria."
When Bill heard Julie's words, he almost jumped out of bed.
Anger rushed to his face, but he hid it immediately.
“Julie, didn't we agree to never mention it again?"
Vivian was indeed adopted, although she herself had no idea about it.
