Chapter: 377
Bill, Vivian and the maid had never accepted or treated Maria as a part of their family. They treated her as an outcast. So it was obvious that they would not assist her.
Julie, however, had mixed feelings about Maria.
As her adoptive mother, Julie had no reason to object if Maria wished to move in with her fiance.
Besides, her marriage was a forced arrangement by the Jenkins family.
“Do you have to leave?" Julie wanted to go to Maria and ask her that question, but she just couldn't.
She was aware that the Jenkins family did not treat Maria fairly.
From the day Maria moved in with the family, Vivian and the maid suspected her of stealing. And Bill was always under the impression that Maria was a thief.
With that kind of reception in the Jenkins home, of course Maria had no sense of belonging. She had no real, loving, supportive family.
Finally Julie plucked up the courage and came to Maria's bedroom door and asked softly, "Don't you think it's too soon to start living with him?"
Too soon?
Maria had started sleepwalking already. If she didn't move to Anthony's house, she would have to continue Living with the Jenkins.
Could Bill or Vivian ensure her safety then?
If she had an attack of sleepwalking, there was a good chance that with the Jenkins family intervention, she would have woken up in the ICU.
“He is extremely kind to me," Maria answered honestly.
Julie was stunned and envious of Anthony. They had such great trust and faith in each other.
As for her and Bill, they did not treat Maria like they were her parents or even her adoptive parents.
“I... How would you Like a gift from me? I have some beautiful jewelry. You can choose whichever piece you Like.”
Julie felt as if this was the day when Maria bid farewell to the Jenkins family and parted ways.
She thought of the popular saying, "Merry meet, merry part."
Although the jade bracelet was given to Vivian, the rest of Julie's jewelry was very valuable. After all, it came from the Smith family in Broome.
