Chapter: 404
Boden on the other hand thought that Vivian was cute and nice, not Like the cold Maria he just met.
As he thought about Maria, he shrugged and decided not to give her any more attention than she deserved. Maybe she didn't get too much family affection and wasn't used to giving it out either. Considering what just happened, he made up his mind about the type of person she was.
What confused him now was that when he leafed through her notebook before she came in, he was sure to have seen the latest chapters of Female Military Counsellor.
Was she really that hardworking and into reading? He had seen most of the notebook and had actually gotten interested in what he was reading.
But if he had turned a few more pages, it would have probably been blank.
After returning to Anthony's villa, Maria schemed through her notebook. Sure enough, she found that some pages were recently leafed through. In fact, the Last wrinkle stopped at the latest chapter of Female Military Counsellor.
However, this wasn't the last page with content. The succeeding pages also contained delicate and artistic words.
“In the spring of next year, the plague began, taking the Lives of more than ten thousand people. Merle thereby presented the prescription to the emperor, in hopes that this was enough to end the catastrophic plague. Just to be sure, the emperor ordered the exiles of the capital to try the medicine first. Fortunately, all of them were cured. This brought so much joy to the emperor that he immediately ordered to spread out the medicine throughout the empire. Soon enough, the pestilence was gone. The emperor wanted to appoint Merle as his concubine for her unrivaled contribution, but the latter politely refused. Because of that, a rumor circulated that Merle only turned down the emperor because of his unappealing looks. When the emperor heard such a rumor, his hatred for Merle soared to great heights."
Maria recalled how she felt when she wrote down these scenes. She was so excited about all the ideas running in his mind that she wanted to pick up her Laptop and start typing at once.
However, when she glanced at the clock on the wall, she noticed that it was already time for dinner.
Moreover, she had promised to cook for Anthony tonight.
However, Maria had an intense bad habit when it came to writing. Once she had an inspiration, she couldn't wait to write down everything that was in her mind. This would be her only priority, not hesitating to postpone or cancel everything else.
Therefore, she was currently very conflicted.
Should she cook first?
Should she write first?
Maria was so confused. She couldn't decide for herself.
She wished she could divide her body into two, so that she could do two things at the same time. That way, she could cook Anthony's favorite food in the kitchen, while also writing her novel in the study.
Seeing Maria struggle so much, Anthony finally said, "It's okay. I'm not hungry yet. You can work for now, and we can have dinner a bit later."
Hearing this, Maria's eyes lit up in joy. She didn't expect that Anthony would be so considerate.
“Are you sure? Are you not hungry yet?" Maria asked in a low voice. She blushed in embarrassment because she owed Anthony this dinner.
