Chapter: 45
“Mr. Jackson... She is not wearing any shoes. What's going on?"
Coincidentally, the chief costume designer was also at the scene. So, when Maria came out without any shoes on, he complained in a low voice.
Although he was a man, he was also good at women's fashion. In fact, he was one of the best in this field.
But his credentials didn't matter to Francis. Upon hearing the designer complain, he slapped him on the back of his head.
"Can't you see? She didn't have to wear a pair. Everything you designed wasn't necessary for this particular scene! Now, move along. We have urgent business to do!" Completely ignoring the costume designer, Francis yelled, "Is the script holder here? Record this right away!
During the birthday banquet scene where the heroine dances, she will do it with bare feet. I want a close-up shot, understand? From long shot to close-up!"
While doing the graceful choreography, Maria amazed everyone. But to her, this didn't mean anything. She was just doing what she thought was necessary.
After the scene, like an emotionless robot, she quickly returned to the dressing room and came back to the studio, wearing another set of costumes just as Francis instructed earlier.
Every time Maria went out with a different set of costumes, everyone was mesmerized. They couldn't fathom how she was effortlessly bringing Anne's character to Life.
However, after a while, she suddenly felt a little sleepy.
It was an indication that her narcolepsy was about to attack again.
Maria thought that she had already given Francis enough pointers, so her job here was done. Before something unexpected happened again, it would be better if she could get out of there.
This disease was most probably caused by a trauma she experienced as a child.
It could be a kind of defense mechanism that her body was exhibiting.
After all, sleeping was also a way of protecting oneself.
In some dangerous situations, falling into a coma or losing consciousness was kind of a last resort for the body not to feel pain.
Maria couldn't fully remember what exactly caused her condition because for as long as she could remember, she already suffered from this disease. Hence, she guessed that the traumatic incident might have happened even before her first birthday.
Therefore, all throughout her life, her narcolepsy brought so many inconveniences.
When she lived in the countryside, her relatives who knew of her condition thought that taking care of her was very troublesome. After living with her for some time, they would try to find an excuse to give her away to their other relatives. Maria grew tired of this living situation, so when she reached a certain age, thinking that she could already live on her own, she did it without any hesitation.
Meanwhile, Maria had finished changing back into her jeans and white shirt. After coming out of the dressing room, she went to see Francis.
"I have other appointments, so I have to go now."
Hearing this, Francis couldn't stop furrowing his brows in confusion.
"You're Leaving? What's so important that you have to cut your audition short? At least sign the contract first before you leave!"
Although Francis was so sure that Maria was the one he wanted to act in the main heroine's role, he somewhat found her rather strange.
Sign a contract? These words obviously made Maria confused.
