Chapter: 510
No! Wait!"
Julie immediately stopped her daughter, who was about to casually walk inside. Her strength was so strong that her grasp hurt Vivian slightly.
They were now in Broome, a place that Bill and Vivian wasn't too familiar with. Julie was from this dignified family, and even after twenty years, she still observed the unwritten rules in their household.
Seeing the serious expression on her mother's face, Vivian stuck out her tongue to hide the dissatisfaction in her heart.
On the other hand, Bill smiled apologetically. "Vivian, it's going to be your first time visiting your grandfather. You should know that there are many rules to be followed here. Remember, from now on, you have to obey all of your mother's orders. Even I can't act rashly. Do you understand?"
“Yes, got it..." Vivian pursed her lips, but soon let out a huge smile. "Mom, sorry I was being a bit reckless. Don't worry. I'll listen to you from now on.”
"I see... Okay then.”
Julie couldn't help but narrow her eyes. A reasonable husband, and an obedient daughter?
She wondered why the attitude of these two changed so much compared to when they were still in Sheffield.
Back there, they indeed respected her. But they also kept their distance from her at the same time. Now all of a sudden, they acted all caring and considerate.
She then sighed and explained, “There are certain rules for big families such as the Smith family. For example, although the main gate is open, not all people are allowed to enter this way. The master of the Smith family and the respectful elders are the ones permitted, as well as the distinguished guests. Aside from them, the rest can only use the side door."
Vivian was taken aback.
“Mom, but you are Grandpa's biological daughter. I am his granddaughter, and Dad is his son-in-law. Why won't we be qualified to go through the main gate?"
Julie remained quiet, shaking her head.
Did they deserve the privilege?
Julie didn't think so.
If she had been married to a decent family much Like the Smith family, then maybe she and her family might be treated with respect.
However, she got pregnant before she was even married. Later on, she eloped and cut off her ties and every connection to her father.
Therefore, she was pretty sure that according to their family's rules, she was discarded and she and her family didn't deserve to go through the main gate.
When Julie was about to explain why they couldn't use the main gate, she saw a familiar figure running towards them.
