If this was the case, then Julie could understand why Anthony didn't mind Maria's true identity, let alone the fact that Bill had lied to him.

It seemed that the Jenkins family was still safe even though their Lie was exposed.

“Wait. What about Maria?!"

Julie asked incoherently in a panic. If she had indeed grasped the situation correctly, then it meant that Maria was just being used as a pawn her whole Life-first by the Jenkins family, and now by Anthony!

Although she had only been Maria's foster mother for a few months, Julie's attitude towards Maria had shifted greatly during that short period of time.

She had coldly stood by and watched Maria being deceived and used.

She had not said a word when Bill set Maria up, like she was just an object to be used and disposed of. But now...

Nervousness crept into Julie's voice as she said, "Anthony, please don't hurt Maria..."

“Of course."

Anthony answered so quickly and without any hesitation that Julie could barely believe it.

Still not convinced, she added, "I mean... If you want to break up with Maria in the future-"

Anthony immediately interrupted, “I'm not going to break up with her." Hearing this, Julie swallowed hard and wrung her hands under the table. What did Anthony mean?

Did he intend to make use of Maria for a long time?

Maria was still young. Did she have to waste her precious youth being caught up in the internal strife of the Wilson family?

“Mrs. Jenkins."

“What? Yeah," Julie replied absent-mindedly.
