Chapter: 551
“Of course. I have always treated you as my own. I have never treated you shabbily since the day we brought you home! You are my precious daughter!"
Bill's words were music to Vivian's ears. Her gratitude turned on the waterworks.
"Dearest Dad! I am willing to be your daughter all my Life. I have no desire to find my biological parents. As long as I have you, my ideal father, by my side, I will be filled with joy. I will never change my mind. My father is no less than God to me! When you and Mom get old, I promise I will take the best care of both of you. After you two die, I will bury you and mourn you Like any other filial daughter should.”
"Well..."
The smile on Bill's face froze when he heard her speak about their death.
He was indeed rendered speechless by her words, even though he knew
Vivian just meant to say she loved her parents very much.
Vivian had always been reckless and sometimes just blurted out stupid things especially when she was emotional, so Bill didn't seem to care. He even pretended to be deeply touched.
“Good girl! In my eyes, you are the same as my biological daughter. You are my pride!"
It was a touching scene of mock reconciliation. Meanwhile, Maria left the Smith family and headed back to her residence.
She had to complete the script of the Female Military Counsellor so she went straight to the study and set to work. It required hours of focused attention.
Maria didn't realize how much time had passed whilst she was consumed with her task.
Without even realizing it, she had been working for seven consecutive hours. She was really tired and badly needed some respite.
“Aaaah-Haaaa..."
She yawned and stretched herself.
Anthony did not disturb her at all whilst she worked in the study. He respected her space and time. She lay comfortably on the sofa and took out her red phone with some intention.
Most people browsed the highlights on Twitter and Facebook.
But in her spare time, Maria preferred to browse the forum of their hacker alliance--the Heaven, read the news posted by other hackers or simply check if there were any strange requests that required their assistance.
After just a minute's casual browsing, something posted by a fairly low-credit user caught Maria's eye.
It read, "Help! I desperately need the services of a trained hacker who can help me restore the harmony in my home. The said hacker must tamper with the database of a paternity testing agency and create a fake test report for my daughter. Please contact me. All necessary information will be shared and a substantive reward will be offered."
