Chapter: 641
"So we are going to be separated?"
Maria's cheeks turned red.
Anthony always had a way with words.
Maria had just asked him if they could install a hibernation pod in Anthony's villa after they returned to Sheffield. Of course, she wanted the pod for herself.
ALL hibernation pods were meant for a single person to use.
After all, once immersed in the pod, a person would be “frozen” and wouldn't be able to do anything else. There was no point in making a hibernation pod for more than one person.
Maria planned to sleep in the hibernation pod, which meant that Anthony would sleep alone in the master bedroom.
“How is it a separation?" Maria retorted in a low voice. "We'll still be living in the same house."
“In my opinion, as long as we don't sleep in the same bed, it is a separation," Anthony explained expressionlessly.
Was he angry? Maria didn't know what to say. As the chief investor in Sophie's institute, Maria of course wanted to enjoy the achievements that the institute had made. Otherwise, what was the point of her investment?
But a woman who could not sleep in the same room as a man would of course not qualify to be his fiancee. No wonder Anthony was dissatisfied.
"Okay. Ask the research institute to install the hibernation pod right away. You can start using it as soon as we get back," Anthony said all of a sudden, much to Maria's surprise. She could barely keep up with his abrupt change of mind.
“Wait... You agree?" f course."
“Aren't you angry that we'll be sleeping separately?" As soon as those words slipped out of her mouth, Maria wanted to give herself a knock on the head.
It was just a fake engagement! Who cared whether they slept separately or not? What was wrong with her? But her words brought a smile to Anthony's face.
Instead of answering Maria's question, he said lightly, "I like the way you think."
In return for Letting Maria to set up a hibernation pod in the guest bedroom in his villa in Sheffield, Anthony asked her to go shopping with him.
Normally, it was rare for a man to make such a request. After all, women were the ones known to be more inclined to shopping.
It was especially unusual for someone like Anthony, who had to sit on his wheelchair whenever he made an appearance in public.
“Don't worry. I won't be using the wheelchair. I'll wear sunglasses to guise myself," Anthony said with a faint smile.
Maria found it to be reasonable.
As long as no one recognized him, Anthony didn't need to be on a wheelchair. He could go anywhere he wanted.
It was now getting colder. Maria was just wearing jeans and canvas shoes, but she also put on a long trench coat.
The creamy white trench coat seemed a little old, but it was the right size and fit for Maria.
