Chapter: 7
Like Maria, he was one of the top-level hackers in Heaven. The staff all called him Master Night.
"Oh, thanks." After mulling over it for a while, Maria found it a bit strange, so she quickly added, “You believe me? Seems Like no one else does."
In the Wilson family's residence in Sheffield, a man in a wheelchair was holding the same mode of red mobile phone that was solely issued to top-notch hackers from Heaven.
Seconds later, Maria received a reply.
“Well, yes. I believe everything you say."
In the past, spies had infiltrated Heaven. Because of this, hackers there had become extra cautious in befriending other members.
Although Maria usually interacted with the others, she didn't fraternize with any of them.
In fact, she rarely chatted with her co-workers in private, except for those she had known for a Long time, including Night.
She had chatted with Night once or twice before, but they had only ever talked shop. Sharing of any personal information or anecdotes was strictly off-limits.
"Would you believe me if I told you that I'm also in Sheffield?"
When another message from Night popped up on her screen, Maria couldn't help but smile slightly.
“Is that so? What a coincidence."
The few times Maria had conversed with Night, it felt as though they had a tacit understanding. They even had similar chatting styles.
A few seconds Later, she glanced at the time and decided to go back.
Before leaving, she sent him one last message.
“Good night, Night."
The three words made the handsome, wheelchair-bound man smile at his phone screen. Then he started deleting the words he had already typed.
“Why don't we meet sometime? We're both in Sheffield anywa-"
When Maria made it back to the villa, she found the Luxury BMW parked at the driveway and figured that the Jenkins family were back.
“Where were you?"
Lily greeted Maria with a grumpy face, arms akimbo.
But she was far from done scolding Maria. “Everyone is already home, yet you still hung around outside Like some mindless thug. This house is governed by rules, you know? Now that you're part of the Jenkins family, you'd better watch yourself!"
Despite being scolded relentlessly, Maria didn't even flinch.
"So, taking a walk in the neighborhood makes me a ‘mindless thug'? What about the people who actually Live here? What do you call them, huh?"
Lily was rendered speechless.
