Chapter: 716
What was this woman blabbering about?
Annoyed that he couldn't figure out what Maria was up to, Emilio got up and stalked off from the campsite.
Anyway, he was sick of eating the tuna fish he got from Maria for two whole days and wanted to pick some wild vegetables and fruits.
"Where are you going?" Boone called after him.
‘0 gather some fruits!" Emilio yelled back sharply.
“I... I'll go with you!" Boone couldn't stand to eat fish anymore either.
The two of them left the campsite one after another. Seeing this, Maria scratched her nose awkwardly.
What, did these two men think that she was a disturbance?
Did they want to go to a secluded place where they could have a romantic time alone?
Emilio had walked for not even half a mile when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
His face darkened, and his eyes narrowed at the soil on the ground.
“What's wrong with you?" Boone asked, almost stumbling into him. Emilio lifted his finger to his lips, signaling for Boone to stay quiet, and then pointed to the ground.
Boone looked carefully and found a pile of animal droppings there.
“This is..." Boone trailed off, frowning.
As a natural scientist, Boone of course knew what it was.
“Wolf droppings?”
“Yes!
As Emilio spoke, he lifted his shovel in front of him Like a defensive weapon.
Boone tightened his grip on his own shovel too.
“It's too dangerous here. Let's go back to the campsite!" Boone said. But even as the two men walked back, a single question haunted both of them: would the campsite be any safer than the rest of the forest?
After returning to the campsite, neither of the men told Maria what they had found.
“I have an idea," Emilio suggested in a whisper
“What?
“Let's quit."
