The kind of berries that grow in the island only had a slight difference in taste when ripe and when still unripe. But the result of eating them at those two different stages were totally drastic.

Eating a moderate amount of ripe wild berries could be a good source of important vitamins and other nutrients.

However, just eating two or three unripe wild berries were enough to cause vomiting, diarrhea, and other unpleasant symptoms in mere seconds.

In their small wooden house, there was a basket made by Judy, which was specifically used for storing berries they picked up.
