Chapter: 748
What was more, it paid well and had a streamlined shooting schedule, which met Maria's requirements perfectly.
Taste of Childhood was a program that showcased celebrities walking through the streets searching for outstanding local food, especially those dishes that seemed to have disappeared and only existed in people's memories.
Fortunately, the timing was just right. Taste of Childhood had only just been approved for production, and the crew was preparing to shoot the first episode.
For a new reality show, the most important thing was attracting viewers' attention.
The prime investor of the show, the Bowles Group, was pretty generous though. The numbers on the paychecks given to the celebrities appearing in the show was far beyond the industry standard.
Right now, the show was in the preliminary publicity stage. With all the famous big stars joining the program, the audience was eagerly waiting for the show to air with high expectations.
Although Maria was not as famous as those top celebrities in the entertainment industry, her participation in Island Survival had won her many fans. Jeremy immediately contacted the crew of Taste of Childhood. As expected, he easily procured a high-paying contract for Maria.
The next day, Maria went to Yeez Entertainment to get the contract that Jeremy had obtained for her.
“The shooting will begin in three days. Since the guest line-up has already been announced to the public, we won't announce the news of your joining. Instead, you'll appear on the show as a surprise guest. And don't worry, Maria. I've looked into the crew of this program. The director and the production team members are some of the best in the industry. They have made several hit reality shows in the past. As for the other guests who will be with you, they include Matthew Lembeck, winner of the Best Actor award, online celebrity Dominic Green, and hit vocalist Jenifer. They all have a good reputation in the entertainment industry, so the program will go smoothly. I am sure you will enjoy it," Jeremy explained in a triumphant tone, obviously proud of what he had managed to pull off at such short notice.
“Bowles Group?" Maria murmured, looking at the contract, as if she hadn't heard Jeremy's words at all.
Jeremy had expected to hear a resounding agreement from Maria, if not praise, so he faltered a little when he heard the hesitation in her voice.
“What? Yes, Bowles Group. It is an enterprise that is mainly engaged in the catering industry. It invests in various such reality shows for publicity purposes."
Jeremy thought that Maria hadn't heard of Bowles Group before, so he gave a brief introduction.
“It is a foreign company, and only entered the domestic market a few years ago. I don't know much about it, but I heard that it has strong capital.”
Jeremy lowered his voice and added, "It is said that the Bowles family is not any less powerful than the Wilson family."
Maria didn't care about whether they had power or not.
She asked expressionlessly, "Do I have to participate in this show?"
"Well... yeah. Is there something wrong?" Jeremy was startled by her question. He said with his eyes wide open, "I think this show would be a great start for you. I've already signed the contract with Bowles Group on your behalf.”
Hearing this, Maria sighed and didn't say anything else.
It was not Jeremy's fault. She was the one who had asked him to find her some work that could earn her a quick buck.
It was just that... it certainly came as a surprise that the sponsor of this program was Bowles Group. Maria felt a little uncomfortable earning money from Anthony's ex-fiancee.
Jeremy couldn't figure out what Maria was worried about, so he kept comforting her in all the angles that he could think of.
“The crew of the program is really happy to hear that you are willing to participate. You did a great job on Island Survival. In fact, the director of Taste of Childhood said that it's a pity that you didn't join earlier. If you had been officially announced as a guest already, there would be even more excitement for the show."
“Okay... I see, I'll do it." Maria nodded. Then, forcing a smile, she added, “Jeremy, thank you.” It was only then that Jeremy's shoulders relaxed, and a flattered smile appeared on his face.
