Chapter: 789
Leif sighed helplessly and said, "Go and tell Maria to come down here." The director's assistant knew exactly how Leif felt. He let out the same helpless sigh and loped off to find Maria.
Meanwhile, everyone but Jacqueline was chatting amongst themselves. They were discussing what classic food they might see and taste during today's activities. Matthew even offered to cook for everyone.
Sitting against the wall, Maria tuned into the conversation. Although she would never interrupt, she would of course politely answer if anyone had a question for her
“Miss Jenkins... Mr. Brooks wants to see you." The director's assistant whispered to Maria.
“Oh, I see."
Without hesitation, Maria stood up and walked away.
“Mr. Brooks, you wanted to speak to me?"
Maria stood in front of him. She was so beautiful and talented; he wasn't sure he could go through with it.
But he took a deep breath and mustered up the courage he needed.
“Maria, there have been some negative comments about you on the Internet recently..."
“Oh? And?" Maria Looked calm, as if it didn't faze her at all that she was going viral, for all the wrong reasons.
“Our major sponsor as well as the producer, that is, the Bowles Group..."
Leif glanced over at Jacqueline who was standing nearby. He sighed again.
“They want you to leave the show. They're worried that Taste of Childhood will be negatively affected by all this.”
Leif blushed as he spoke.
Up until now, Maria had only had a positive influence and been a great contributor to the show.
“Are you advising me to leave the show voluntarily?"
Maria asked calmly, trying to seek some clarity.
Jacqueline, who had been loitering nearby finally run out of patience.
ALL of a sudden, she grabbed Leif's megaphone and announced loudly, "In light of Maria's poor behavior of deceiving the audience, the Bowles
Group has officially issued a notice to the production team to remove her from the show Taste of Childhood!"
Maria was eliminated from Taste of Childhood.
Shock rippled through the audience.
For a woman of few words, she had actually become quite popular.
