Chapter: 798
The reporter thought that the headmaster was being modest and credited the teacher with the honor. She wanted to interview this brilliant teacher that he was referring to.

"Mr. Watts, I understand that the school only has five teacher. So, which one do you think is the best? Is it okay for us to interview him or her?”

“That'll be Miss Jenkins, but I don’t think you can interview her," Mr. Watts answered with a wave of his hand. He then took a drag from his pipe. "You see, she has graduated so she isn't in school now."

The reporter looked quizzically at Mr. Watts.

The teacher had graduated?

What did he mean by that?

Did she volunteer as a teacher in this school when she was still in college?

“Could you tell us more about this Miss Jenkins?"

“Miss Jenkins was actually a student of our school. She was a senior in high school. As I've said, she has already graduated. I heard that she went to the city. I miss her very much!"

“A senior high school student!" exclaimed the reporter.

“Why did she teach?"

"I had no choice," Lowell said, shrugging his shoulders.

“Subjects in high school are so challenging. There were no teachers here who could teach them quite well. And then, three years ago, Miss Jenkins graduated from middle school. She could teach the high school subjects and that was also what she did."

The reporter only became more confused.

“Why is it difficult for you to understand?" the headmaster said impatiently when he saw the reporter's perplexed expression.

“Miss Jenkins is very intelligent. She is good in all subjects. So even if she herself was still a freshman in high school, she could already teach all the students.”

He then reached behind him and pulled a bundle of papers from the bookshelf.

“Even their examination papers were made by Miss Jenkins."

The cameraman started snapping pictures of the test papers, which showed Maria's name. This proved that what the headmaster had said was true.

Since the TV station's reporter was also a fan of Taste of Childhood, she knew the recent news about Maria.

“Mr. Watts, from what I had read, Maria Jenkins got zero point in all her exams. She seemed to skip all the exams," said the reporter.

“What are you talking about? Who got zero in the exams? And who skipped the exams?"

Lowell was trying to follow the thread of conversation. He was, after all, already old. He blinked his eyes and thought for quite some time before he finally got what the reporter was talking about.

Frowning, he then asked, "How could she take exam when she was the one who prepared the test questions? Also, she had to supervise the exam and then grade the papers. How could she have time to take the exam herself?"
