Chapter: 831
“You're her sister. Don't you care about Vivian at all?"
Patricia sneered. She continued, “Let me tell you why she's here. Today, Vivian secured an apprenticeship with a member of the Sheffield Writers’ Association. And soon, she will become a member of the said association, one of their most distinguished star-rated members even
“Did you just say... a star-rated member?"
Maria was also going to become a five-star member. When she heard those familiar words, she became invariably curious.
Because Maria was not a mean person, she did not retort sarcastically to Vivian.
Maria observed the confused look on Maria's face. She assumed it was because Maria did not know what it meant to be a star-rated member of the Writers' Association.
Vivian felt smug thinking about this.
"You seem unfamiliar with this. Let me explain. The members of the Writer's Association are divided into two categories: ordinary members and star-rated members. In order to be accepted as a star-rated member, a writer has to have profound knowledge of Literature."
Vivian paused for a while as if she expected some applause and then continued to explain.
“But since my writing still needs some polishing, my teacher is only applying for the one-star membership for me. It's my first application to the Writers' Association."
After Vivian finished bragging, Patricia added, “Vivian's teacher is the senior leader of the Sheffield Writers’ Association!"
A senior leader?
How eminent was such a position?
Curt Willows was the president of the Writers' Association of Sheffield and one of the three elders in charge of the National Writer's Association. Wasn't his position the highest?
Therefore, the position of Vivian's teacher could not be higher than that.
Vivian's star-rating was one-star. Hmmm... It meant that her writing was average to sub-standard.
It was uncharacteristic of Vivian to describe her writing as average in front of Maria, so Maria tried to motivate her. "Although you are just a one-star member, don't be discouraged. Work harder and improve your skills."
Having said that, Maria felt that she really had to get back and enjoy her dinner, and so she left in a hurry.
Vivian and Patricia, who remained there, were complacent.
"Mom, she... she Looked down upon me. She was being condescending!"
Vivian said, flabbergasted.
“What did she mean by ‘don't be discouraged’?
Oh my god!
I am a 20-year-old one-star writer and also a good artist in the entertainment circle. Once the news spreads, it must become the trending topic," Vivian cried out.
