Chapter: 868
Raymond snorted coldly, refusing to accept how happy and comfortable the couple was with each other.

Michael laughed happily and finally backed down.

“Fine, fine. You two can go back as soon as you're finished eating. Anyway, be sure to rest up and get enough sleep!”

At first, what Michael said sounded a Little ambiguous.

But then he winked at Maria, making his words even more meaningful.

Nonetheless, Maria couldn't say a thing to clear things up.

On the way home after Leaving the Wilson family's manor, Maria received a call from Curt.

“Maria, do you miss me?"

Curt's cheeky voice came from the other end of the line.

“No," Maria answered without hesitation, rendering Curt speechless. "Well... It doesn't matter. After all, it's only been a few days since we last saw each other," Curt said, trying to smooth over his embarrassment before promptly changing the topic.

“I call you because there's an upcoming event called Star Search. Would you like to take part in it? It only lasts for half a day. During the period, senior writers will comment on the works of newcomers. It's somewhat similar to the Appreciation Conference that was held in ancient times."

Appreciation Conference was an event with a long history where people would gather to comment on contemporary poems, articles, and paintings. It was traditionally held on the first day of each month.

It didn't matter what background one came from; as Long as their talent was recognized during the Appreciation Conference, their name would spread far and wide, and their status in the society would be elevated.

Therefore, it had once been a famous event that hundreds of people flocked to.

Of course, Maria was familiar with the Appreciation Conference and its history.

Scratching her nose, Maria asked, "You want me to go there and have my work evaluated?”

“No, no, no," Curt said hastily with a chuckle.

“Well... I'm supposed to be the main judge for this event, but I have too many things to deal with in the Writers’ Association. I wanted to ask if you could go there as a judge on my behalf.”

That was the last thing Maria had expected to hear, and her eyes widened in surprise.

“Me? Are you sure? I'm afraid that others might have objections."

Curt clucked his tongue unhappily.

“Nonsense! Who would dare to raise objections? You are my protege, a five-star writer of the Sheffield Writers' Association and the successor of the National Writers’ Association. You have loyal fans all over the world. Who is more qualified than you to judge Literary works?"

Maria opened her mouth but found that she couldn't say a word to refute.

Even if Curt's words were true, they were too bold!
