Chapter: 898
“Polly?”
Felix tasted the name in his mouth and then finally shook his head. He had never of this name before.
He was too old, and he didn't have the energy he used to have to pay attention to new writers and their works. Besides, he was already too occupied with trying to handle the heavy work of the Writers’ Association.
The expression on Felix's face made Vivian to freeze. Had he really never heard of her pen name? She wasn't happy about it at first, but then again, she thought it was a good thing too.
If he hadn't heard about her, that meant he hadn't read the news spreading online about her having plagiarized.
“Miss Jenkins, keep your calm. Mr. Gomez will eventually read all the works presented here today for the assessment. You don't need to push him," Merlin said with a disapproving frown.
"You're right. I'm sorry about that. I just admire Mr. Gomez so much that I can't wait to get his comments,”
Vivian immediately said as an excuse, using the opportunity to flatter Felix.
As a man who didn't really enjoy complications, Felix simply said, “It's fine. We can just check hers first."
It wasn't like it would make any difference whose work he read first anyway. He would still have to assess everyone's work.
With a triumphant smile, Vivian led Felix to her exhibition stand.
On the screen, the words of the episode she had chosen, Palace Coup, was enlarged well enough for the other guests to read.
“Okay... Let's see this
After reading a few lines, everyone could see him slow down and his eyes seemed to come to Life. It seemed as though he found the plot very interesting and impressive.
“ Felix said tiredly and started reading.
Vivian was the happiest person in that instant. She had chosen the best part of her book, and it was obvious to her that Felix appreciated it.
ALL the other guests who were watching were eager to know exactly what Felix thought of her work.
Some other guests who had never heard of Polly or her work “Song of Phoenix" were now curious considering Felix's reaction.
“Miss Jenkins' work must be excellent. Do you see the expression on Mr. Gomez's face?"
"Could she actually be a promising writer? I'm from the press. I need to get Miss Jenkins‘ phone number and convince her to sign a contract with my company that will permit us to release her book."
"Wow! Just take a look at Mr. Gomez's reaction. "Song of Phoenix" is definitely good!"
When Felix finished reading the Last line, he didn't say anything as they all expected, but stayed silent instead.
He seemed to be thinking or trying to recall something. Everyone remained mute and let him do his thing.
Vivian was nervous as she waited, but nervous in a good way.
