Chapter: 1543
Sierra's feeble attempt at resistance was shattered when the door was broken down and the policemen barged in. In the blink of an eye, they overpowered and handcuffed Sierra.
“Miss Rivera, right? You are a suspect in a human trafficking case.
You are under arrest."
“No... I don't know what you are talking about! I have nothing to do with it. Let me go!" Finally, Sierra managed to snap out of her shock and found her voice.
“We'll see whether you have anything to do with it or not." The two policemen escorted her out of the hotel room.
“Do you know who my uncle is? If you dare to arrest me, he will definitely get you fired!"
“Even if your father is Royce Nelson, he can't help you this time!" the younger policeman retorted.
That was the name of Lance's uncle.
Since human trafficking was rampant in the city, the authorities attached great importance to this case and even had a supervision team overseeing all cases related to it.
Sierra's heart was filled with despair.
What happened? She had done everything perfectly and didn't Leave any trace behind, right? How did the police find her?
When they passed by the door of the next room, Sierra started shouting frantically, “Rita, help me! Rita!"
Rita came out when she heard the noise. The moment she saw Sierra in handcuffs and being escorted by the police, she glowered at the policemen and questioned rudely, "What are you doing?"
The older of the two policemen looked at Rita calmly.
"Are you Sierra's aunt? Sierra is suspected of human trafficking. We are taking her to the police station to investigate."
Stunned, Rita turned to look at Sierra, unable to conceal her surprise.
“Rita, I don't know what they are talking about. I didn't do anything! Please save me..."
After getting along with Sierra for so many years, Rita knew Sierra better than Sierra knew herself. Rita could tell at a glance that Sierra was lying.
But that was not the point right now.
Rita stood in front of them and said, "How could Sierra be involved in something like that? I need to check your badges and arrest warrant!"
