Chapter: 1871
Blayze's brow was furrowed, sweat beaded on his forehead, and his grip on Sabrina's wrist tightened.
Feeling the need to soothe Blayze, Sabrina gently tapped his shoulder and reassured him, “There's no need to worry. I'm right here."
"Mom..." Blayze slowly drifted off to sleep.
Sabrina lingered by the bed's edge a little longer. Once assured he was asleep, she carefully withdrew her hand and left the room without making a sound.
Brenton and the other bodyguard were standing guard outside.
Upon seeing them, Sabrina considered asking them to keep the night's events from Tyrone. But then, realizing there was nothing between her and Blayze, she let the thought of Tyrone's potential jealousy slide.
Back in her room and on the verge of showering, Tyrone's call came through.
With a slight raise of her eyebrows, Sabrina answered, "Got something on your mind?"
Clearly, Brenton had filled Tyrone in.
Tyrone inquired, "I heard he's staying next door to you?"
"Yeah, he had a bit too much to drink. I wasn't sure where the Fowler family's place was, so I brought him back here," Sabrina explained, omitting the fact she knew how to contact Horace. She left out that part deliberately, knowing Tyrone might get jealous if he found out she hadn't sent Blayze to the Fowler family's place out of sympathy.
Tyrone chuckled, his voice dripping with irony. "And why's he at your table, huh?"
By midday, Tyrone had phoned Sabrina to check if she'd made it to the hotel. Sabrina shared that she was going to have lunch with the folks from the magazine office.
“It caught me by surprise too. He got me an in with Peterson.”
Tyrone clenched his jaw in frustration. What a cunning folk! Blayze always jumped the gun, leaving Sabrina to graciously accept his favors, making it hard for her to cut ties with him. Just as Tyrone had expected, Blayze didn't give up on Sabrina.
Sabrina added, "I have no plans to meet him."
"Did you drink?"
"No, he was the one drinking with Peterson. Peterson left early."
Sabrina then asked, “Was there anything else? If not, I'm going to take a shower."
"Go on. Just be careful not to slip."
