Chapter: 1872
"Will do."
"Hold on!"
"What is it?"
“Keep your phone close. Don't hang up."
Sabrina was taken aback and her cheeks flushed. “What's the matter? Do you find the sound of water soothing? You can listen to it at your own place, anytime you want."
"Sabrina, what's on your mind? I really want to have a chat, but I worry it might cut into your relaxation time."
"Okay... Uh... Sure." Sabrina's response was filled with hesitation and she murmured softly, “I'm not overthinking. It's just that your request sounds a bit odd to me.”
Then, she stepped into the bathroom, placed her phone away from any water, hung up her towel and robe, and turned on the shower.
The room was soon filled with the noise of running water.
Tyrone asked, “Did he talk to you? Did he give a reason why the Evans family didn't want to look into the case?"
Stripping off her clothes, Sabrina answered nonchalantly, “Yeah, he did."
"What did he say?"
"He mentioned he despises the Blakely family because of Kira. His mother took her own life by jumping from a building right after he was born. He wants to avenge that by making Larry pay and rallying others against the Blakely family."
After a brief pause, Sabrina broke the silence over the phone. “Can you hear me?" she inquired.
"Yes." Tyrone paused before asking, “Is there anything you want to ask me?"
With a smile, Sabrina responded, "What do you think I should ask? Do you expect me to question if you're aware he's your half-brother?"
Realizing Sabrina already knew, Tyrone, with a hint of reluctance in his voice, admitted, "My grandma had revealed that to me, but I've been reluctant to accept it. Are you aware of why Kira harbors ill feelings toward you?"
Taken aback, Sabrina queried, “Does it have to do with Miss Rivera?"
Tyrone confirmed, his voice nearly lost amidst the sound of flowing water. Yet, he clearly caught Sabrina's next words. “She's still clinging to her beliefs, thinking Horace would choose her over Rita. Isn't that absurd?"
Sabrina had assumed Kira disapproved of her for Tyrone for other reasons, not anticipating this particular cause. She found herself at a loss for words.
