Chapter: 1893
There were nameplates in front of everyone at the conference table, and all attendees were dressed in business suits, looking very serious.
The police quickly sensed a mistake. After a brief talk, the police belatedly understood they had interrupted an internal meeting of the Mathias Trade Association's electronic business committee. Though it was a social group, the attendees had significant influence.
A mistake by the hotel staff, who failed to notify the police beforehand, led to this blunder.
The police apologized and took their leave. They then started to question Keilani for her false report.
When Keilani learned about the police's findings, she didn't grasp the trouble she was in. Instead, she accused the police of being biased. Her aim was to cause embarrassment for Tyrone and Sabrina in front of the authorities.
Even though the police concluded there was no prostitution and took no further action, Keilani didn't back down. When the police explained that the report had caused unnecessary disruption and misused public services, she found it amusing.
The police were already in a foul bad mood after being tricked by Keilani. Upon hearing Keilani questioning their actions, they didn't respond and immediately located her using her phone's GPS. They planned to detain her for five days.
How could Keilani just accept this? In desperation, she quickly explained who she was and used her connection with Royce to convince the police to let her go.
Soon enough, Royce got wind of the situation. In the end, Keilani wasn't detained due to Royce's intervention.
However, Royce was livid. Once he figured out the full story, Royce solemnly talked with Keilani, stressing that Tyrone wasn't the right match for her.
Ever strong-headed and whimsical, how could Keilani agree with Royce?
She refused to Listen.
After the doctored results of the paternity test with Jennie were revealed, Keilani saw no turning back. She was determined, believing that with enough time, Tyrone would eventually come around to her.
Yet, Keilani knew any further demonstration of her feelings for Tyrone might risk Royce sending her away immediately.
After listening to Keilani's story, Alice remained quiet for a brief moment before slightly nodding. "Maybe your uncle has a point. No matter how much effort you put in, Tyrone might never reciprocate your feelings."
"Alice!" Keilani screamed, taken aback. "Why would you say that? You don't have my back either?"
Alice explained, "It's not about not backing you up. I just can't stand the thought of you getting hurt, trying so hard for something that's bound to fail."
“How are you so sure I won't succeed?" Keilani questioned.
Alice revealed, “Because Sabrina is pregnant."
“What? She's what?" In disbelief, Keilani's eyes went wide. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her palms.
