Chapter: 1901
"What's up?" Sabrina sounded puzzled.
“Where are you now?"
"I'm at home. Why? I'm making dinner."
Tyrone let out a relieved breath and asked, “You've been home all day?"
“Yeah, I've been working on some photos at home."
"Try not to go out if it's not necessary these days. And if you do need to step out, make sure Brenton or someone else comes with you. And don't open the door to strangers, okay?" Tyrone instructed.
"What's going on?"
Tyrone quickly filled her in on the events.
"Is Jennie okay? She's Keilani's daughter, isn't she? How could Keilani..." Sabrina was shocked.
"Jennie's got a few bruises but she's awake now and doing okay. Just make sure you're taking care of yourself.”
"Got it."
After ending the call, Tyrone slipped his phone into his pocket and returned to the bedside. He glanced at the IV drip and pressed the call button for a nurse to come and change Jennie's IV bag.
Soon after, Keilani entered with two lunch boxes in her hands, smiling at Tyrone and Jennie. "I was about to head back but then I remembered you two hadn't eaten dinner yet, so I brought these over."
Tyrone and Jennie exchanged looks. Tyrone said, "Just leave them on the table."
Tyrone knew buying meals was simply an excuse for Keilani's wish to linger in Jennie's ward. But with Sabrina staying at home, who was Keilani really after?
In Starry Apartment.
After hanging up the phone, Sabrina set it aside and then turned her attention to the food she was cooking. She stirred the dish once and covered the lid.
Tyrone's warning rang in her ears again. She quickly made her way to the front door and locked it.
Then, she went to the living room window. Sabrina opened it and looked down at the street below.
It was dark by now. On the road outside the community, cars came and went. The streetlights on both sides were dim.
