Chapter: 1902
In the distance, every household in Mathias had its lights on, painting a beautiful night scene.

From where Sabrina stood, she could see a minibus parked not far away from the gate of the community.

Fortunately for whoever owned the minibus, there were no traffic police nearby at this time. Otherwise, the minibus would have been fined for parking in the wrong place.

Just as this thought filtered through Sabrina's mind, the minibus driver turned the car in the direction of the community, following a black car that had just entered the underground garage of the community.

Sabrina didn't think anything of what she had just seen, so she closed the window, locked it, and went back to the kitchen. She uncovered the pot and stirred the dish again.

Unbeknownst to Sabrina, a few minutes after she went into the kitchen, the black car drove out of the community. A few more minutes passed, marking the departure of the minibus in the other direction.

When Sabrina saw that the ribs simmering in the pot were almost ready, she peeled two green onions, washed them, and sliced them into pieces.

Somehow, Sabrina sensed a wave of unease wash over her. While peeling the potatoes, she accidentally cut her finger on the knife. Blood gurgled out instantly. When handling her cut, a thought struck her.

Her eyes went wide with alarm and she quickly took out her phone and dialed Bettie's number.

Instead of Bettie, a cold mechanical voice came through the phone.

“The number you dialed is switched off."

Sabrina's heart jolted. She hung up the call and dialed Lance's number instead.

After a few seconds, the call was connected.

Without greeting, Sabrina demanded, “Lance, is Bettie with you?"

There was a pause before Lance replied, “I just dropped her in the underground garage. Hasn't she gone upstairs yet?"

"No, I suspect something happened to her. I can't go out now. Please come over immediately. I'll ask the property management to check the surveillance video." Before Lance could interject, Sabrina added, "No matter what you see or come across on the road, just ignore it and rush back to Starry Apartment."

“Okay.” A trace of worry flashed across Lance's eyes and he immediately turned the car around.

Previously, Lance didn't appreciate Sabrina since the latter had agreed not to send the photo of Alice hugging him to Bettie, a deal seemingly for Tyrone's sake. His impression of her worsened since she failed to keep the promise. Yet, he could tell Sabrina attached great importance to her friendship with Bettie.

Despite his impression of Sabrina, Lance knew she wouldn't call him and tell him something Like this for no good reason.

Back in the apartment, an anxious Sabrina quickly dialed the number of the property management staff.
